JOB DESCRIPTION:

National Account Manager / Trade Marketing Manager

  • This opportunity is with a CPG Food Supplier
  • Location: Houston, TX (Onsite / In-Office)

Overview

  • A growing CPG food supplier is seeking an experienced National Account Manager / Trade Marketing Manager to manage and grow key grocery retail accounts across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. This role is ideal for a proven CPG sales professional with strong grocery relationships and hands-on trade marketing experience.
  • The position blends strategic sales leadership, trade marketing execution, and marketing support, with a primary focus on driving profitable growth at major grocery retailers.

Key Responsibilities

Sales – 60%

  • Manage and grow national and regional grocery retail accounts, including HEB, Brookshire’s, UNFI, KeHE, and similar customers
  • Own the full sales cycle: account planning, presentations, negotiations, promotions, and execution
  • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with company objectives
  • Drive distribution, promotional compliance, and velocity across assigned territory

Trade Marketing – 30%

  • Lead trade promotion strategy and execution for assigned accounts
  • Analyze promotional performance, pricing, and ROI
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize trade spend and retail programs
  • Support category initiatives, planograms, and retail execution strategies

Marketing Support – 10%

  • Create compelling sales presentations and customer-facing decks

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in CPG food sales
  • Direct experience calling on grocery retailers (regional or national)
  • Existing or prior experience working with accounts such as HEB, Brookshire’s, UNFI, KeHE, or similar
  • Strong understanding of grocery retail, trade promotions, and account management
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Trade marketing or category management exposure
  • Experience managing multiple banners across a defined territory

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: Up to $150,000 (base + incentive, depending on experience)
